Astrid Elliott

(Clinic Coordinator) Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology

With an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Ottawa, Astrid is passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive experience for every client who connects with Ottawa Treatment Centre. As Clinic Coordinator, she is often one of the first points of contact for clients and is dedicated to making the process of accessing mental health care feel clear, comfortable, and personalized.

In her role, Astrid supports client intake, communication, scheduling, and care coordination, helping clients navigate the process from their initial inquiry through to connecting with the clinician who best meets their needs. She believes that the client experience begins well before the first therapy session and strives to ensure that each person feels heard, respected, and cared for from their first interaction with the clinic. She values creating an environment where clients feel comfortable reaching out and confident that they are being guided through each step of the process.

Alongside her work at Ottawa Treatment Centre, Astrid has experience in psychological research through her work as a volunteer research assistant with the CONEC Lab at the University of Ottawa. This experience provided her with exposure to psychological research and deepened her interest in understanding mental health from both research and clinical perspectives. It also strengthened her appreciation for the importance of evidence-informed approaches to mental health care.

Following the completion of her Honours BSc in Psychology in 2026, Astrid plans to pursue graduate training in counselling or psychotherapy, with the long-term goal of becoming a psychotherapist. She is passionate about continuing to learn and grow within the mental health field and hopes to contribute to a clinic environment where clients feel safe, valued, and supported throughout their journey.
