Aubrey Townson

Registered Psychotherapist

Aubrey is a Registered Psychotherapist with Qualifying status.

She has completed the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University, and completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology, and minoring in Child and Youth Studies, at Brock University.

Additionally, Aubrey has been trained in the Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model (created by Lori Gill), as well as in Direct Neurofeedback.

Aubrey has work experience with agencies and private practices providing services for: individuals with trauma, individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, Young Caregivers, individuals with special needs, and youth experiencing homelessness.

These opportunities have provided Aubrey meaningful experience working with adolescents, adults, and elderly individuals who are seeking support for a variety of reasons related to their mental, social, and/or physical well-being.

These experiences contribute to informing Aubreys’ therapeutic practice.

Aubrey is interested in holistic, trauma-informed, client-centered, and strength-based, approaches to therapy utilizing aspects of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Somatic methods.

She recognizes the importance of each clients’ individual needs when creating a treatment plan, and encourages clients to play an active role in their healing process.

Aubrey is excited to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming therapeutic environment, and to work together with clients to develop goals and understand what positive well-being looks like for them.
